Full Name George Herbert Baxter
The 1891 Census shows the Baxter family living in West Haddon. The Head of the Household is shown as George Baxter aged 44, a gardener, born in Cold Ashby in 1847. Sharing the home were his wife Hannah (nee Walden), aged 44, born in *1844 in Walgrave and their three sons Frederick, George and Frank Harold. Frederick was born in Winwick; George and Frank Harold in West Haddon. Parish records show the baptism of George Herbert on 16/8/1885. His father’s employment at that time was a “Labourer Varnish”.
The 1901 Census shows the family living on The Green. George, his father, was then a carpenter/shop keeper and George Herbert a gardener (not domestic).
The 1911 Census shows George Herbert Baxter, aged 25, working as a coach builder living with his sister’s family, the Cole family, in Worcestershire. The relationship was shown as “Brother in Law”.
George Herbert married Clarence Louise Marshall (Born 1890) during September, 1915 in Chelmsford, Essex. He died on 12/8/1934 in Northamptonshire.
The Probate dated 8/9/1934 at Exeter, Devon read: “Baxter George Herbert of West Haddon, Northamptonshire died 12/8/1934. Administration Exeter 8/9/1934 to Claire Louise Baxter widow. Effects £572 10s”
His mother Hannah died in 1901.
His father died in 1936
I was unable to find any documentation in respect of military service for George Herbert Baxter.
