The George family appears in the 1891 census showing Harry senior as head of the household, aged 33, working as a plate layer with LNW railways, his wife Elizabeth aged 37 and their three children Leonard aged 11, Harry aged 9 and Alfred aged 7. All were born in Great Brington.
The 1901 census shows the family still living at Great Brington with only Harry, born during the fourth quarter of 1881 (Northampton 3b 131), living at home with his mother and father. Harry was working as a groom domestic.
By 1911 Harry aged 29 had moved to West Haddon where he lived with his wife Rose 31) and their child Eric Bernard George aged 1. I was unable to find the date of the wedding.
The absentee Voters’ List 1919 gives his regimental number as 144654, his role as a driver and his regiment as 1st Company 5th DT ASC. Despite this additional information I was unable to find a Harry George with any link to West Haddon in military records.
