HENRY JAMES WARNER WOODFORD
The 1901 census shows Thomas Woodford a master butcher and his wife Jane living in High Street, West Haddon with their 4 sons and 3 daughters. Henry at that time was aged 12.
He was born on in West Haddon and baptised on 11/11/1888.
The 1911 census shows Jane, aged 47, as head of the family, Thomas having died aged 51. Henry was not living at home. The census shows him living at 27 Grenfell Road, Notting Hill as a boarder with Frederick and Alice Neil
His Short Service attestation was approved on 16/11/1914, joining the Army Service Corps. His service number was 0035629. He served in France from 6/7/1915 to 19/2/1916 and returned to France on 15/7/1916 until18/10/1918. On discharge, as a Lance Corporal with the RASC he joined the army reserve, giving High Street, West Haddon as his home address.
