His family had long term connections with West Haddon and it is possible, if calculations are correct, to trace his lineage, in West Haddon, down to his great-great-great-great-great-great grandfather who died in 1750.
Wilfred’s name first appears in official records in the1901 Census which shows his family living in a “Cottage” in West Haddon. The family consisted of:

There were numerous entries in military records for personnel named Wilfred West but without further information I could not find any link to this Wilfred West.
Wilfred married Lillie Dowdy (born 1895) at Newport Pagnell in the April-June quarter of 1920. They had two children: Edward West, born 1921; and Arthur West, born 1923.
Lillie West died in 1936 and Wilfred married Frances M Stratford in the October-December quarter of 1950. They had one daughter: Rosemary West, born 1951.
Wilfred’s death at the age of 75 was registered in December 1966. His occupation was described as a painter
